Udupi : Ranjitha (20) and Yogesh (25) were neighbours in a colony at Patelthota, Kadekar. Yogesh was pestering the college girl to marry him but the girl had refused many times a compliant had been given to the Malpe police by the parents of Ranjitha some time back, but the police officials let Yogesh off, with a warning which he did not accept in his action. He continued to ask the girl to marry him on Wednesday morning at day break, Yogesh happen to see Ranjitha in front of the house and repeated his proposal, which was turned down by the girl.

Where upon Yogesh is said to have flashed out knife and stabbed her to death. He is absconding ever since. The local police of Malpe are hunting for his head while the girl’s parents are in tears over the dead body in a pool of blood, of Ranjitha in front of her house.

The murder case has been registered by the police.
