Karkala : Talented Karatekar Ranjitha Poojari of Karkala has won the gold medal in the 14th Karate Budokan International Championships held at New Delhi recently.

Ranjitha, a student of St Joseph Primary School, Belman, has won gold in the Kata category and bronze in Kumite category.

The event was jointly organised by the All India Karate Federation, Delhi Budokan Karate Association and  Karate Budokan Federation of India.

Ranjitha is coached by Satish Poojari and is the daughter of Ravi Poojari and Ramitha hailing from Belman.
