Mangalore: Prof. Narendra Nayak of Rationalists ‘Forum has criticised the Railway Reservation Counter at the Mangalore City Corporation complex in Lal Bagh as a corrupt place. He had a shocking experience on Monday when he wanted a Tatkal(Immediate) Reservation on Bangalore-Mangalore train for 24sth (Tuesday) night and a Thug was found regulating people, who took the first sitting place.

The frontline was occupied by touts and booking agents, as the cheats called themselves, and those who behaved like owners of the place, Nayak said.

Nayak went out to bring a reservation form and lost his seat to a tout who said it was the seating arrangement made by bookers.

There is a racket going in Tatkal reservation with persons handlins many identity Cards and forms, with an active connivance of he booking staff round the year, Nayak said. In summer, there is heavy rush for bookings on the M-B railway.
