Mangaluru: Mangaluru and Belgavi police have arrested a sharp shooter at Baikampady in Mangaluru city on Friday. The arrested, Landry Ganesh Shetty (35) is one of the companions of underground don Ravi Poojary. According to the Belagavi police, the shooter was helping 6 criminals who were arrested in Belagavi recently. The sharp shooter was sent with the Belagavi police for further investigation.

Belagavi police came on information that the Ganesh Shetty and other 6 arrested have been planning to kill rowdy Dinesh Shetty. Dinesh Shetty, is accused in the murder of Mangaluru based lawyer Noushad in 2010. The accused was sent Hindalga jail of Belagavi in connection with the murder case.

According to the plan prepared by the Ganesh Shetty and 6 others, Dinesh Shetty should be brought out of the jail in the name of giving medical treatment at the district hospital and make him to escape from the hands of the police while moving towards the hospital. The criminals were also planned to murder Dinesh Sheety after his escape from the prison. The seven arrested had also made plans to kill elite personalities of the state. The arrested involved in a robbery case also.
