Mangalore : DR.KC Chakravarthy deputy governor of RBI conducted a customer’s grievances adalat in Corporation bank auditorium speaking on occasion he stressed that bank customers demand good services from the banks and it is the duty of every bank to give almost service to the customers under RBI rules.
The meet was organized by various banks for the benefit of customers at the auditorium of Corporation Bank head office in Pandeshwar addressing the gathering Mr. Chakarvarthy said he is honored to be here in South Canara because it is the birth place of several nationalize banks and great bankers. Coming back to the subject he said the main aim of the RBI is to safeguard the interest of banks and its customers and RBI is entitled to see that all banks are working under banking rules and regulations. Any anomalies in the banking practices can be brought to the notice of banking ombudsman and it could be sorted out. The main task of RBI is to check whether banks are following rules of the public policy. He cautioned the customers to read carefully the terms and conditions before signing any documents. Once an agreement is signed the RBI can’t intervene in the matter.
Also present were Mr. Ajaykumar, managing director and Chairman Corporation bank, Mr. Jairam Bhat CEO of Karnataka Bank, AC Mahajan, MG Sanghvi, chairmen and managing director of Syndicate Bank, HS Upendra Kamath, chairmen for Karnataka among others were present.
