Karkala: In a brutal accident a cashew industrialist breathed his last at Nallur Gandhinagar on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Madhav Prabhu (45) of Kabettu.

He was in his Nano car when a Ford Fiat which was moving opposite to Madhav’s car collided with his car. The incident occurred at morning 10. The Nano car was thrown six feet away from the incident place.

Madhav had several fractures and blood was flowing heavily. He was taken to Pratibha Hospital for the primary treatment. Later he was taken to a private hospital at Mangaluru, where he breathed his last.

Fiat car driver Krishnaraj of Dharmasthala is also injured in the incident. It is said that his oversped and reckless driving was the reason behind the accident.

Karkala rural police have registered a case.
