Mangalore: A youth was  murdered  on August 5, Monday night near the railway bridge at Morgansgate.

The youth who was killed is Vikrant Shetty (27) of Shantigudde. He worked for  a recreation club at Jyothi. The murder took place at around 11 pm when Vikranth was returning home after closing the club. Some men who came by a bike and car waylaid and attacked him with sharp weapons killing him.

As it was a deserted road, at first this was thought to be a case of accident. Later it came to light that it was a murder.

The cause of the murder is not known.

Pandeshwar police are conducting investigations.
