Hyderabad: Forget ex-CM Yeddyurappa asking for home meals or ex-minister Katta S. Naidu seeking medical facilities in jail but in Andhra the jailed mine-owning businessman and ex-minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law B.V. Srinivas Reddy, both of Obulapuram Mining Co., have demanded on October 31, a “Special class prisoner status” in Chanchalguda jail.
They were arrested in Karnataka from Bellary by CBI, who lodged them in AP jail as ordinary prisoners. They are in judicial custody, so they have moved the special court for better conditions of their jail life. A Counsel for the Reddys described them as tax-payers. The matter is posted for Wednesday, November 2.
If the plea succeeds, Reddys could get separate accommodation and facilities, as jail-birds.
