Mangalore : Former union minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari has said that the BJP government which has indulged in unprecedented corruption has lost the moral right to rule the state and hence the electorate must reject this party in the ensuing local body elections.
Addressing a press meet at the District Congress Office he said there has been a rise in atrocities on women in the recent past under the BJP rule.
He alleged that the BJP aims at winning the elections by spending the funds which it has accrued through corrupt means.
He assured that the property tax would be reduced if the Congress comes to power in the city and promised to develop the district as a model district.
He said the Congress election manifesto will be released by senior leader Oscar Fernandes on March 2. B Ramanatha Rai, District Congress President, senior leaders PV Mohan Vijaykumar Shetty and others were present.
