Mangalore : The first Pratishta Mahotsava of Guruvana Sri Durga Kshetra, Kadekar Jeppinamogaru was inaugurated by Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on May 12, Saturday, by lighting the traditional lamp. A Samhookika Chandika Yaga was also performed for universal peace and welfare on the occasion under the guidance of Sri Narendranatha Yogishwareshwara Swamiji of Sri Guru Parashakti Mutt, Marakada.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said religious shrines provided the much needed peace of mind to human beings. They provide solace to the minds and hearts which are in turmoil many a tome owing to greed of material pleasure.
He said the state government was also giving priority to the devlopmemnt of religious shrines of all communities.
Yogish Kumar, President of Guruvana Sri Durga Kshetra, Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Krishna Palemar, Yogish Bhat and others were present on the occasion.
