Mangaluru : Senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to sack Minister of State for Labour P.T. Parameshwar Naik from the council of ministers as the latter has brought disrepute to the party through his actions, including the transfer of Kudligi Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenoy.
Speaking at a press meet in the city on Saturday, Poojary said that the minister had put down the image of the Congress Party with his actions. Poojary condemned the incident and added that Naik had made the Congress party a scapegoat with his actions and that such a person had to be sacked immediately.
He said that Home Minister G. Parameshwara and Mr. Siddaramaiah had undertaken a padayatra to Ballari against the ‘Ballari Republic’. “If no action is taken against Mr. Naik, the government will be providing an arsenal to the Opposition parties,” Mr. Poojary said.
Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Poojary demanded immediate re-posting of Ms. Shenoy in Kudligi.
