Mangaluru: Renita and Shamitha of Mangaluru and Fouziya and Sameera K of Kadaba have been chosen for the year 2016-2017 Press Club Award for their valuable service to provide education to those people who are deprived of education in rural areas.

Judging committee which had Prof B A Vivek Rai, Sadanada Suvarna and Prof Rita Noronha selected these four ladies for the prestigious ‘Mangaluru Press Club Award’.

Based on the uniqueness while choosing the carrier, passion for self-reliance and confidence these ladies have been selected for the award. This will pass a new message to the society, said jury board.

Award will be presented to the winners on December 18 morning 10.30 at Scouts and Guides Hall at Lalbhag. The event has been organized to mark Mangaluru Press Club Day. District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai will be presenting the award to the winners.

Award consists of Rs 10,001 cash, certificate and memento, said Press Club General Secretary in a press release.
