Excise Minister Renukacharya in Om’s new Kannada film
Bangalore: Film director Om Prakash Rao seems to understand that politicians can act better on stage or screen, since politics is like another stage with MLAs as actors. Politicians facing camera can act like a film star with more appeal. So, Rao introduces- who else,, but MP Renukacharya Excise minister who raised liquor sales and increased state revenues in 2010, to the silver screen and Kannada audience in 2011. He will be without Jayalaxmi.
Former CM H.D Kumaraswamy who was a distributor in films before he entered politics and is an MP now, is stated to be having a role in “Shivakashi”. CM Yeddyurappa is also contemplating to appear in “Bhooloka Rakshaka” a Kannada film.
Now, allow Renukacharya to do a main role in “Bheema Theeradalli” (on the banks of river Bheema) directed by Om Prakash. The Muhurat (opening shot) has been doen already, and it is MPR’s first (debut) picture, Om Prakash stated. The Excise minister does not mind making up his face, Om Prakash added.
Duniya Vijay and Praneeta are the love-birds in the project. The film may reach sets in May next.
