Sullia: After a week of landslides at Jodupala, rescue operation team on Friday traced body of a 52-year-old lady who missing the flood. The team 24 recovered her body from near a bridge at the lower end of a waterfall near Jodupala August.
The deceased, Gowramma’s body was found beneath a tree here during the clearing operations.
On August 17, Gowramma and other members of her family – Bas appa (her husband), Monisha (the couple’s daughter) and Manjula (Basappa’s niece) – were at their residence, when a landslide led to the collapse of their house.
A day after the incident, i.e on August 18 Basappa’s body was found from a place close to his house, and that of Monisha was recovered on August 19. The bodies of his wife and his niece, however, remained untraceable.
Gowramma was an Asha volunteer at Madenadu while Basappa was employed at Sullia government hospital.
Meanwhile, the search for Manjula’s body is ongoing.
