Mangaluru: Reservation for the next mayor election at Mangaluru City Corporation has been announced.

Mayor post is reserved to common women and the deputy mayor post has been reserved to scheduled caste.

Term of present Mayor Harinath will ending on March 11, 2017, before four months of mayor election the reservation has been announced.

As per the present reservation all the 14 women corporators of Congress are eligible to contest for the mayor post and the race for the post has begun.
