Mangalore : Around 9 kilometer stretch road of between Punjalkatte- Berkala- Kattadhapadpu Zilla Panchayath roads in Belthangady – Bantwal taluk is completely damaged and difficult for the vehicles to move, said Yashodhara Shetty, president of Auto driver – Owner association.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Feb 10, Friday. He also said that thousands of vehicles move in this roads causing health programme to the residents and shop owners due to the dust.
He also said that the pits on the roads is causing the tiredness in the passengers and causing accidents for two wheelers and auto rickshaws.
The residents have complained about the condition of the roads to the public representatives by visiting their office, through telephone and also requested face to face, but still no action has been taken to repair the damaged roads.
He said that if Zilla Panchyath does not take any action to repair the roads before Feb 25, Saturday, then all the association, organization, college students and locals of the area will stage protest on Feb 27, Monday in between the road.
He also warned that if any incident occur in the road, then the Zilla Panchayath will be directly responsible for it, he added.
Poovappa Moolya, president of Vishnumurthy Yuvaka Mandala Madapalke, Ravi, president of News Friends Berkala, Punjalkatte, Ganesh Moolya and K S Salu, district president of Dr B R Ambedkar Prathistana, Punjalkatte were present at the press meet.
