Mangalore: Mangaluru City corporation on Wednesday sent an notice to stop installation works of Vodofone company mobile tower at Dummappa compound, Greenland Colony near Pandeshwar.

Greenland Colony’s residents approached Mangalore Mayor Kavitha Sanil and commissioner against installing a mobile tower at their residential area.

A Sai Kiran Apartment belonging to Jayakumar,at Greenland Colony, has built a large mobile towel by Indos Pvt. Ltd. Limited for Vodofone company,  Since 11 months now it completed.

Local people have described Mega Media News as saying that the nearby residents requested the building owners not to construct the tower in a residential area. The owner lying about it said, a water tank to construct, but he, constructed a 30-foot tall mobile tower on a three-story building, they said.

Resident also said that the works had been progress in eleven months. After getting Completion Certificate from MCC, the owner constructed the foundation for the tower in third floor. It is a violation of the law and after getting certificates, they said.

But the building owner said, “I have a high court order to build a tower. There is no barrier to building a mobile tower.”
