Bengaluru : Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka distributed food kits to more than 1,000 people including auto drivers and daily wage labourers on Sunday. “Covid has taught us a very important lesson that is the importance of humanity. We need to help those who are in need. I have seen so many sad incidents during the Covid waves. For example, there was a son who refused to take his father to hospital. There was a posh apartment where all the apartments stigmatized an inmate who tested positive. However, on the other hand, we have examples of drivers (auto, cabs or ambulances) who risked their lives to ferry people to hospitals. This is true humanity”, Mr Ashoka said.
During the programme, Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka appreciated Bengaluru South MP-Tejasvi Surya for organizing a number of vaccination camps for providing vaccination to various categories.
Mr Ashoka said, “The Covid wave was so severe that many failed to claim the Covid bodies. So, we decided to immerse the ashes. I followed the due religious process which took more than three hours. Many, including my wife, were scared and warned me against doing it. However, I strongly believed that it was my duty. This was possible because the people of Padmanabhanagar elected me to serve them.”
