Mangaluru : Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka launched a unique programme-“Door-to-Door health check-up by doctors in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits” on Monday. With this, Bengaluru becomes one of the first cities to launch a programme aimed at curbing the Covid cases.
Speaking to the media, Mr Ashoka said that the government will never hesitate to take tough measures to curb Covid cases. “We thought of this special programme where doctors will visit each household. I feel that if we are able to screen all the family members then we can identify the Covid infection at the earliest and provide the best possible treatment and thereby curb the rise of Covid cases in the city. I request Bengalureans to cooperate with BBMP in this ambitious programme.” Another interesting feature of this programme is that it is completely paperless as all the data will be recorded via a uniquely designed mobile app.
A team of BBMP doctors will conduct door to door health visits in BBMP limits. The initiative will have teams with one doctor and one para medical staff each that will collect information on Covid symptoms and co-morbidities and provide health advice. In the first phase, two wards each from assembly constituencies; 54 in total, have been chosen and the survey will start on 16 August 2021.
Key points:
1. Each team will conduct a survey of at least 50 homes.
2. Each ward will have 5 doctors and more teams will be assigned as needed.
3. Each team consists of a medical officer (MBBS/ BDS/AYUSH) and a team of paramedics.
4. The doctors in every team will wear a white apron printed – Palike vaidyaru nimma mane Bagilige, nimma arogyave namma dhyeya (Palike doctors at your doorstep, your health is our priority)
5. Teams will be equipped with vehicles for conducting door to door visits.
6. If a Covid-19 infected person is found during a home visit they will be provided with a Home Isolation Kit, available at primary health centers.
7. Doctors are instructed to enter the survey details into the BBMP software every day.
