Mangaluru: “As per the Right To Education Act students have the right to opt their teachers and we should join our hands with students to save their right,” said educational thinker Renni D’Souza.
She was speaking in a meeting at Padi hall, Mangaluru on Friday. In the meeting it is decided to include all the parents and students in a demand meet on August 8 at DC Office premises.
Addressing the gathering Shree Durga Friends Club President Praksh Anchan said that, some of the government schools were about to shut down and his club saved the schools with the help of locals. He explained about the importance of staging protest against the transfer of teachers in front of DC Office.
Human rights activist, Dinesh Ulipaady said “a revolution is needed to save the governmental schools. Then only we can create awareness about the importance of government schools among the people. New faces and effective faces should join with us more and more to strengthen the protest.
Lokesh, Shok Bhat, Kamala Gowda, Usha Naik and others were present.
