Mangaluru: Most of the candidates belonging to political parties or contesting independent, who have filed their nomination paper in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are ‘Crorepati’s’. Of all the candidates, assets of 26 candidates have crossed the crore mark.

The first position for highest assets possession goes to Udupi Congress candidate Pramod Madhwaraj whose assets amount to 78.46 crore rupees. Byndoor BJP candidate Sukumar Shetty holds the second position with assets worth 24 crore rupees. The Third position goes to Bantwal BJP candidate Rajesh Naik whose net asset worth is 21.52 crore rupees. Mangaluru North Congress candidate MLA Mohiuddin Bava is on the fourth position with assets worth 19.6 crore rupees.

The net asset worth of Udupi BJP candidate Raghupati Bhat is 16.02 crore rupees, Mangaluru South BJP candidate D. Vedavyas Kamath is 11.07 crore rupees, Belthangady Congress candidate K. Vasanth Bangera is 6.70 crore rupees, Byndoor Congress candidate Gopal Poojary is 5.15 crore rupees, Kundapur Congress candidate Rakesh Malli 5 crore rupees and Mangaluru BJP candidate Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyar is 3.92 crore rupees.

The net assets worth of Bantwal Congress candidate MLA Ramanath Rai is 3.8 crore rupees, Moodbidri Congress candidate Abhaya Chandra Jain is 3.74 crore rupees, Mangaluru South Congress candidate J.R. Lobo is 3.45 crore rupees, Karkala BJP candidate Sunil Kumar 2.91 crore rupees, Puttur Congress candidate t. Shakuntala Shetty is 2.65 crore rupees and Kaup BJP candidate Lalaji Mendon is 2.39 crore rupees.

Moodbidri Constituency JD(S) candidate Ashwin Pereira net assets worth is 2.41 crore rupees, Belthangady BJP candidate Harish Poonja is 1.70 crore rupees, Belthangady JD(S) candidate Sumati S. Hegde is 2.11 crore rupees, Kaup MLA and Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake is 1.44 crore rupees, Mangaluru North BJP candidate Dr. Y. Bharat Shetty is 1.91 crore rupees, Mangaluru Congress candidate and MLA U.T. Khader is 1.41 crore rupees, another JD(S) candidate for Moodbidri Heevan Shetty is 1.30 crore rupees and Sullia BJP MLA S. Angar has 1.12 crore rupees worth of assets.

Puttur BJP candidate Sanjiv Matandur’s net asset worth is 79.73 lakh rupees, Karkala Congress candidate Gopal Bhandary is 73.73 lakh rupees and BJP Moodbidri candidate Umanath Kotiyan has a net asset worth 91 lakh rupees.

Mangaluru South independent candidate Shrikar Prabhu owns net assets worth 4.42 crore rupees and Maxim Pinto who is another independent candidate contesting from this constituency has declared his net asset worth to be 3.05 crore rupees.

CPI(M) candidate for Mangaluru constituency Nithin Kumar Kuttar owns very low assets amounting to 2.65 lakh rupees. Mangaluru North constituency candidate of CPI(M) Sunil Kumar Bajal owns assets worth only 16 lakh rupees.
