Mangalore: Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, an advertiser and social activist organised the condolence meeting at city’s Sharada Vidyalaya in Kodialbail on February 15, to remember the light of, and pay tributes to, late Dr. V.S. Acharya of Udupi who passed away February 14 on Tuesday, afternoon in Bangalore. That is when coastal admirers gathered on Wednesday February 15 evening, to make fond reminiscences on the departed soul.
P.K. Kalkura made introductory remarks on the sad occasion. Floral tributes were paid eminent men of DK Dt.
Vedic hymns were chanted. Dignitaries expressed their shock and narrated incidents of their connections with Dr. V.S. Acharya.
Prof. S. Murthy had witnessed the last minutes of Dr. V.S. Acharya in a college in Bangalore only previous day.
E.L. Alva, Ivan D’Souza, M.B. Puranik and several others spoke, while over 100 admires had attended the function full of old memories of and bhajans.
