Mangaluru: A young bike rider died on the spot when his two-wheeler was hit by a container lorry at Kallaup near here late night on December 23, Sunday.

The deceased is Yathish (24), an employee of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF). Yathish was on way to Kumpala from the city when the lorry hit the bike from the rear. The impact of the collision was such that Yathish was thrown off his bike onto the road killing him on the spot.

It has been gathered that his sister was supposed to get married on December 27.
