Mangaluru : Shikhara Prathishte rituals were held as part of the Brahmakalashotsava at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple here on Friday.
Mahaganapathi homa, shikhara prathishte, thrikala gurupuje, thrikala ankura puje, chandika homa, jaloddhara kriya, vahana bimba shuddhi and other rituals were held as part of the festival.
Temple chief patron B Janardhana Poojary led the rituals in the presence of thousands of devotees who had come from different parts of the state. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and MLC K Harish Kumar took part in the rituals.
Brahmakalashotsava rituals will be held at the temple on February 17. Shivagiri Mutt peetadhipathi Brahmashri Vishudananda Swami will be arriving for the rituals on February 16. The temple authorities will receive him with ‘Poornakumbha swagatha’. The seer will lead the rituals during the Brahmakalashotsava.
