Mandya: 9 persons lost their lives and 51 persons were injured in a gruesome road accident at Chinakurli in Pandavapura taluk, on Thursday around noon in broad daylight, when a Tempo carrying families for a nuptial engagement ceremony from Mysore to K R.Pet clashed head on against a speeding KSRTC service bus coming from opposite direction.

Among 51 injured and admitted to Chinakurli public hospital, 13 were in serious condition shifted to Mysore and Pandavapura.

The bridegroom who traveled separately, escaped the tragedy, being investigated at present by local police.

Among the 6 dead are 2 kids.
