Bangalore: Surface Transport and current Home affairs Minister R. Ashok told reporters today, that road tax inter-state tourist vehicles at various points, entering and moving about in the state, have been waived upto Oct.24. This facility will enable Lakhs of visitors coming into Karnataka to attend Dushera (in Mysore) and Kaveri Thirthodbhava festivals (Talcauvery), besides local Dushera events in Mangalore and other places, to participate in the events as visitors or tourists, the Minister explained.
About 40 ageing Rajahansa buses in KSRTC will be replaced by new vehicles, besides new bus stations will also be created in the most modern styles to help passenger rush on buses of various routes. An environment – friendly but modern bus terminus will be built on Chamundi Hill soon, R. Ashok indicated.
