Managalore : As temperature rose in coastal city of Mangalore day in and day out, with a creeping crisis over water shortage, with MCC at their Tumbe vented dam running round in panic for additional water supply to the lakhs of Mangaloreans in 60 wards, when levels at Tumbe reservoir dipped below 9 feet, heavy rains lashed the city on Wednesday, to bring natural justice to citizens, with thunder and lighting, to announce an arrival of heavenly waters by a messenger called breeze, to reduce heat and perspirations on workers bodies.
Office-goers, and passengers from outskirts into the city, were stranded morning and evening, as bus commuters were caught unawares without umbrellas.
Public meeting on open grounds were disrupted and a pandal collapsed in furious winds at Shaktinagar.
Motorists struggled to make the journey and pools of dirty water collected, to splash on to wayside walkers’ dresses.
Power supply went awry and dumb. A few were injured by accidental events and traffic police had a harrowing time.
All the same, coming of rains was pleasant experience of Varuna-Kripa (divine mercy).
