Kasargod: In a theft case which took place at Kundamkuzhy, thieves decamped with half kgs of gold and four kgs of silver from a jewellery shop, which was owned by gold merchants association’s district Secretary K Ashok, on Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning the theft was reported. Thieves had entered the shop by breaking the shutter lock and escaped with 56.25 sovereign of gold, four kg silver and Rs 10,000 cash. There were three lockers in the shop. Thieves managed to breaks two lockers, but they couldn’t break the larger one.
Electric cutter was used to break the shutter lock and the electricity was taken from the main board outside the shop.
SP Thomson Joe, Circle Inspector C B Thomas, forensic squad and canine squad arrived at the spot.
