Mangalore : An Awareness and Outreach Programme on ‘Malaria and Dengue Prevention’ was held at Town Hall in Mangalore on July 27, Saturday. The programme was an initiative of the Health Concern Foundation and was held with the co-operation of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Speaking as a chief guest, Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader said he was happy to note the initiative taken by the Foundation in organizing such a programme aimed at sensitizing the society on the preventive measures need to be taken to check Malaria and Dengue.
He also spoke about the District level health teams proposed by his department aimed at ensuring healthy students.
MLA of Mangalore South JR Lobo, presided over the function.
Ajith Kumar, Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation, Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Dr Shivakumar, District Health Officer, Dr Edmond Fernandes, CEO of Health Concern Foundation, Moideen Bava, MLA, D M Majumdar, Deputy General Manager of Corporation Bank, Mahabaleshwar Bhat, General Manager of Karnataka Bank were present as chief guests.
Prior to the function, the participants took out an Awareness Walk from Milagres College upto the function venue.
There were cultural programmes and a quiz for the gathering.
