Mangaluru: Most Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore diocese chaired a special preparatory meeting at Bishop’s house of Diocesan Pastoral Parishad for the forthcoming state level Catholic Charismatic convention on Thursday. The state level convention from November 9 to 12 will be held to mark the golden jubilee of charismatic renewal in Catholic Church and has the Bishops of 14-dioceses of Karnataka along with their priests and laity participating in it.
Most Rev Lawrence Mukkuzzy, Bishop of Belthangady diocese dwelt on the spiritual benefits people have received due to the Renewal in the Catholic Church over the years. This time, Rev Mukkuzzy said, people must attend the Convention in large number and benefit from this unique opportunity. The convention will be held from November 9 to 12 at Rosario Cathedral Church ground. There will be a training programme for leaders coming from various dioceses.
Fr Onil D’Souza, convener of the convention placed before the members the preparations already done and also the details of the preparation to be done in the days to come. He requested the prayers, co-operation of all those present and also from all the people of the Diocese to make the convention successful. M P Noronha, secretary of the diocesan pastoral parishad requested the members to come and participate in the convention in large numbers. Fr Richard Coelho, director of Fr Muller Hospital moderated the meeting. Msgr Denis Moras, the Vicar General, Fr Melwyn Noronha, director of Charismatic Renewal, priests, sisters and representatives from all over the Diocese were present.
