Mangalore : Rosario Cathedral Church celebrated the titular feast of their patroness, Our Queen of Holy Rosary on 6th October with devotion and fanfare, for which Rt. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’ Souza the Bishop of Mangalore was the main celebrant along with 16 concelebrants of the deanery. The Bishop in his homily during the mass explained the importance of the prayer of Rosary citing the examples of various previous Popes who had used Rosary as a powerful spiritual tool.
The feast was the climax to the three days’ celebration of the Triduum which was held as a proximate spiritual preparation for the feast. Novena prayers were conducted during the Triduum, praying especially for the intentions of the needy faithful. During the Triduum days the miraculous statute of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary was kept outside the Church for veneration of the devotees.
After the Holy mass the official website of the Rosario Cathedral, www.rosariocathedral .org was inaugurated by the Bishop of Mangalore. The parish priest wished that this website should be a bridge to the Rosario parishioners anywhere in the world to be in with their parish. The Bishop also released the Queen of Holy Rosary Novena Book Compiled by the parish priest, V. Rev. J.B. Crasta. Appreciating the Bishop’s venture of taking up Mangalore-African mission in the diocese of SAME, the parish priest showed the generosity and sacrifice of the Rosario parishioners by offering a small purse towards the expenses of the priest working in SAME diocese.
The programme came to an end with the morning breakfast for all. The Rosario Youth Movement members through their stalls entertained the public through various luck games.
