Mangaluru: Minister for Urban Development and Haj Roshan Baig, on Thursday laid foundation stone for houses for the ‘Poura karmika’ to be constructed at Mahakalipadpu, Jeppu.
The project is being implemented at the cost of Rs 2.40 crore by Mangaluru City Corporation. Every house will be built in 400 sq ft of are. It will contain one hall, one kitchen, one bed room, a balcony and toilet and bath room.
Totally 32 such houses will be built in apartment model. The building will be a four floored and there will be eight houses in each floor.
The workers who are serving from past ten years are eligible for this scheme. 20 per cent of the construction coat should be paid by the worker remaining 85 per cent will be paid by MCC.
Each house will cost Rs 7.50 lakh, so totally for 32 houses it will be Rs 2.40 crore. MCC have called for a short-term tender for this project. The project will be completed in next eleven months, said officials.
