Mangalore : The social change management forum and centre for sustainable development, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized a two day seminar titled “Urban Services in Mangalore City – Focus Solid Waste Management” on April 12, Tuesday.
Chief Guest MCC Commissioner Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash said that the city gained the second rank in solid waste management in the entire country but still lot of work has to be done.
Dr. Olinda Pereira, the director of Vishwas Trust, said that the newly released book and the seminar are closely related to each other and will help to obtain solutions to the city’s problems.
President of the Institute of Social Service in Roshni Nilaya Noemia D’Souza, said that waste management is a huge problem in urban areas, and it is the duty of people to overcome it.
Dr. Rita Noronha, were the guest of honor. Adoor Krishna Rao, Dr. Ashoka B., the principal-in-charge and head of the criminology department, was also the chief guest.
