Belthangady : D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala was accorded a rousing reception on his arrival to Dharmsthala from London after receiving the Ashden-2012 Gold Award for outstanding achievement of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project in the field of micro financing. A colourful procession with school bands, bandset etc with Heggade travelling in an open car, was taken till the function venue.

Speaking at a function held in his honour, Heggade said any rural development project that works for the welfare of the poor in true sense, will succeed. He said nature had ample resources to fulfill man’s needs but not his greed.

Prof. S Prabhaker, Vice President of SDM Educational Institutions, said Heggade worked untiringly for  the welfare of the society. Hemavati Heggade also spoke on the occasion.
