Puttur: The murder (case) of a rowdy – sheeter on Friday has been solved by police with the arrest of 4 persons including former Puttur AMC chief, D. Ammanna Rai, and breach of trust being the main cause of the murder, according to DK-SP, AS Rao.

T. Umesh Rai (the deceased person) had disappeared in Puttur and his wife Soumya has filed a complaint with Puttur rural police station on March 31, this year. Umesh was a rowdy – sheeter. Soumya in her complaint stated that her husband left her on March 26 but did not return home. A missing case was registered than as Umesh Rai (36) could not be traced. There were rumours that he was in Kerala. The police during investigation got suspicious of Jayaraj Shetty, who confessed to a plot to kill his friend Umesh who handled land disputes. The police are looking for the body of Umesh, buried near a farmhouse, based on confessions made by 4 arrested persons who are gang members.
