Mangaluru: A  rowdy sheeter  Dheeraj Poojary (27) was attacked by another rowdy sheeter on April 16 at Tannirbhavi on the outskirts of the city.

Two years ago, Dheeraj was the prime accused in the murder of another rowdy sheeter Bharatesh’s relative Shivraj.

On the evening of April 17, Dheeraj was outside his house when the alleged allies of Shivraj arrived on a scooter, held caught Dheeraj and attempted to attack him with a knife.

Naveen alias screwdriver Naveen, Sunil alias Muthu Sunil and others attacked Deeraj suddenly. Naveen caught hold of Devaraj and tried to stab him with the knife.

However, Dheeraj shouted alerting the neighbours who arrived on the scene. The attacker duo ran from the scene after the neighbours were alerted, allegedly warning Dheeraj that he will be killed publicly.

Devaraj Poojary of Tannirbavi, Ganeshkatte was the main accused. He had come out on bail recently.

A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
