Kasaragod: The police have arrested main accused in brutal murder of RSS worker Rajesh Edavakode (34) in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday late night. The incident occurred at Sreekaryam in the city when the deceased was returning his home after a meeting with the members of his organization. The culprits brutally assaulted the RSS worker and hacked his left hand to end his life.
The police have reportedly taken the main accused, rowdy-sheeter, Karumbukonam native Pramod on Sunday while six other suspects are being questioned by the investigation team. All commercial establishments, shops remain closed on Sunday following the hartal and the statewide shutdown can’t affect the routine life of the people significantly as it is Sunday.
The murder came after series incidents of clashes between BJP and CPI(M) workers. Speaking on the incident, Kerala State BJP Unit President Kummanam Rajasekharan called for a state wide hartal on Sunday and said, “CPI(M) led state government has sponsored this murder as part of their conspiracy to end the future of BJP in Kerala state.”
