Mangalore: City MLA N. Yogish Bhat conducted the land workship (Bhumi Pujan sites) for laying a synthetic track at the renovated Mangala stadium in urwa on Jan 27. He told reporters that the track would be laid with high quality awareness about it, as per CM`s desires.
The govt. had granted Rs. 3.15 crores for a total 400 meters of synthetic track suitable for athletes. The District stadium committee has been given administrative sanction to implement the project at cost of Rs. 3.09 crores, in a framework of allotted time. A New Delhi company has won the tender, he, said.
Ullal MLA, U.T. Kadher, MCC commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar youth services assistant director parshwanath, Food & civil supplies Dy. Director Sharanabasppa, and Tejomay of MCC were present among others, on the occasion.
The tracks is expected to be ready by April 2012 D.K DC Dr. N.S. Channappa Gowda assured that a third party inspection and a separate Experts committee, would supervise the quality maintenance aspect of the new track from Friday.
