Belthangady: D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala has said a Rs 33.94 crore project has been formulated on behalf of the Dharmasthala Rural Development Project for water and sanitation purposes.
Dr Heggade was speaking to reporters after representatives of water.org of America met him on Monday. He said under the auspices of his organization, projects to provide water facility and sanitation facility to 40,000 families in 100 villages of Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri and Chikmagalur districts would be taken up with an aid of Rs 2.69 crores from water.org.
Dr LH Manjunath, Director of Dharmasthala Project, said the five year project envisages setting up of 50 Shuddaganga drinking water units at a cost of Rs 10 lakh each.
Janet, Project Manager of water.org, B Jayaram Shetty, Manorama Bhat and other officials were present.
