Mangaluru : Rs 36 lakhs has been released for the construction of a Goshala on behalf of the government at Ramakunja village of Kadaba taluk and 98.45 acre land has been identified for the Goshala said, Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra.
The DC said in the initial phase, the land will be fenced, a borewell will be drilled and measures would be taken to grow fodder required for cattle. In the next phase cowsheds will be constructed, he said and added that in the days to come Goshalas will be constructed in all taluks.
Temples managed by the Endowment Department have been identified so that maintenance of goshalas through them would be easy, he said.
In the initial phase the administration would allocate land for Goshalas to be managed by the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple, Polali Rajarajeshwari Temple, Puttur Mahalingeshwara Temple and Sauthadka Mahaganapathi Temple, the DC said.
Dr Prasanna Kumar T G, Deputy Director of Department of Animal Husbandry and others were present.
