Mangalore : State Minister for Youth Affairs and Fisheries Abhayachandra Jain has said that a sum of Rs 390 lakhs has been allocated for the maintenance of link roads in the district. He said the roads would be upgraded by concretizing them.
Participating in a meeting convened at the DC office on September 23, Monday, he said all developmental works in ports of the district should be taken up at the earliest He also said steps would be taken to develop Kulai and Hejamady ports.
He also informed that dredging works have been done at the estuary at a cost of Rs 4.53 crores. He said diesel will be available at a subsidy of Rs 7 per litre to the fishermen. Women fisherfolk too are receiving various facilities under Matsya Mahila Swavalambana scheme, he informed.
