Kundapur: Locks of front door and bed room (on first floor) were smashed open and wardrobes of steel and wood also were battered, before looting cash, diamond-studded waist ornament (belt, a pearl necklace, two gold neck-laces, golden bangles, a bracelet, silverware and Rs 2.5 Lakhs in currency, were all looted when owners were away, on the night of Thursday (Dec 29), in a house that belonged to Anita D.Sherigar (38) wife of D.M. Sherigar at Gowri Nilaya in Kumbhashi. The value assessment made of all these items touches Rs 46 lakhs, as total loss incurred by the unfortunate couple. Earlier, the estimate was not made known.

Anitha Sherigar has since complained to the police on the massive robbery. Investigation has begun in the case.
