Udupi : Union minister for Corporate Affairs and Power M Veerappa Moily has said that the government would be launching a mega tourism project worth Rs 5000 crore along the Indian coastline. He said of the total amount, a sum of Rs 50 crore would be initially released.
Speaking to reporters after attending a Congress workers meet, he said the state governments concerned have been asked to look into various other issues pertaining to the project, like the CRZ etc.
He said even the Udupi district administration has been asked to submit tourism project proposals.
Moily further informed that the officials have been directed to start the Kundapur-Karwar widening project within the next two months.
