Kundapur: Scholarships worth Rs 7.50 lakh were distributed to as many as 215 Konkani Kharvi community students of the first year and graduate courses, at a function held at RN Shetty Hall on October 7, Sunday under the joint auspices of Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation, Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund, World Konkani Centre, Mangalore and Akhila Karnataka Konkani Kharvi Mahajan Sabha.

R V Deshpande, chairman of Emeritus Konkani Bhas Ani Sankriti Prathistan inaugurated the programme. World Konkani Centre President Basti Vaman Shenoy,Ramdas Kamath of Akhila Karnataka Konkan Kharvi Mahajan Sabha,  Venkatesh N Baliga, secretary, World Konkani Centre, Pradeep Pai, secretary of VKSSF, were present on the dais.
