Puttur: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the Parivar Pratinidhi Sabha (delegates convention) on Friday morning here (March11) at a tastefully decorated venue in a College campus, near Mangalore.
Hundreds of delegates from all over country were present on the occasion.
Suresh Joshi, joint secretary, read out the annual report. He paid glorious tribute to a long list of well-wishers who passed away during the year.
Joshi informed the gathering that over 63,000 persons underwent 7 day training in the primary education class, and over 15,000 had done advanced training. The RSS had nearly 40,000 branches in over 27,000 villages or cities in India. Around 8,000 meetings once a week, and over 6400 mandalis (groups) once in a month were held, and they are still continuing, Joshi stated.
He gave details of several social service programmes carried out to make youth conscious of a society. Over 30 lakh Hindus assembled at Mandla in M.P for Narmada Kumbha Mela. Volunteers of MP collected food grains and donations from over 5 lakh households for use in Kumbha Mela, Joshi informed.
He spoke about several relief activities and anti terrorism drives, besides other initiatives undertaken by RSS.
He criticised rampant corruption in the country in view of excessive consumerism and bankruptcy of ethics in public life. He asked economists and intellectuals to change this mean scenario.
He asked for public support to RSS to face challenges before the nation.
