Mangalore : A meeting was held at the Mangalore RTO office on January 8, Tuesday to discuss the problems faced by Mudipu residents due to the Cut in trips of KSRTC buses on the route. It may be recalled here that people of the area resorted to a protest recently and demanded that more buses be introduced.
At the meeting the residents of Mudipu and representatives of various organisations placed forth their demands.
The RTO said though the trips that have been cut short cannot be reintroduced, steps would be taken to run additional buses, be it either government or private on the route. He also stated that buses which were not operating on the route despite having permit, will face cancellation of permit, while fresh permits would be issued to new buses.
Regarding the cut in the existing KSRTC bus trips, he said the timings of the bus could be changed to cause minimum inconvenience.
MLA UT Khader, ZP Member Santosh Kumar Rai and others attended the meeting.
