Mangalore: JD(S) candidate for the council elections S. L. Bhojegowda, has verbal argument with University principal College Laxminarayana Bhat, for not allowing him to conduct a campaign for the elections from the south-west graduates constituency in the college premises on May 16, Wednesday.
JDS candidate S. L. Bhojegowda, who had campaigned successfully in many colleges had visited University College in Hampankatta at 11:00 a.m. But he was stopped by the principal stating it to be the venue for valuations.
Furious S. L. Bhojegowda argued with principal for being biased against JD(S) candidates since D. H. Shankarmurthy and Captain Ganesh Karnik had campaigned at University College on May 15, Tuesday.
In response, principal said that he was not aware of their campaign since he was on leave on May 15 and if it was the fact he will also file police complaints against D. H. Shankarmurthy and Captain Ganesh Karnik for doing so.
Later principal-in-charge elucidated that S. L. Bhojegowda’s statement was false.
