New Delhi: BCCI Secretary N.Srinivasan informed on Tuesday (Feb8) that S.Sreesanth of Kerala would replace injured fast bowler Praveen Kumar of Karnataka in the Indian World Cup team. ICC has approved the selection.
Both the players are in Bangalore, with Sreesanth (fast bowler) attending fitness course, when he was informed by Selectors (headed by K.Srikkant) of his selection to his delight.
Sreesanth promised to do justice to the trust placed on him by the selection committee for playing in World Cup matches beginning this month (Feb19) in Bangla. Sreesanth and his followers in Kerala were ecstatic about his last minute choice decreed by fate.
Praveen Kumar failed in his tests several times in India and abroad (London), while ICC has approved Sreesanth at the eleventh hour. Sreesanth helped to do his best for Indian eleven, which is aiming at winning the World Cup this year. He conceded it was a golden opportunity for him to prove his values.
