Mangalore: Two man of the Match performance in Hockey during the London Olympics qualifying games held in Delhi and watched by thousand on ground and in Tv were enough to catapult local Hockey star S.V. Sunil (Acharya) as talented forward line player of the Indian Hockey Team, that bagged the honours of qualifying for Olympics Hockey again, after many years of wait and brought him laurels at home.
He was felicitated by his Community members on Saturday morning March 10 at the KaaliKamba Vinayak Temple Hall at car street in city.
This comes around the same time as India led by Mamatha Poojari of Karkala won the world Cup in Kabaddi in Delhi.
Sunil receiving the honour attributed his great success to his elder brother and family for their continuous encouragement.
Olympic Games in London is due from July 27 to August 12 this year and Sunil is quietly confident of turning in a new leaf there.
