Mangalore : Birth Centenary Celebration of eminent teacher of mathematic Prof K A Krishnamurthy will be celebrated at Eric Mathias Hall, PG Block of St Aloysius College on August 23, Friday at 10 am, said Walter D’Souza, regional chairman of Federation of Indian Export Organizations.

Addressing the media at the press meet at Press Club on August 16, Friday said that Prof K A Krishnamurthy has served at College for more than 4 decades. His service in Mangalore City has profound impact on his students and admirers. He retired from service in 1973 and later died in 1996.

Secretary of celebration committee Rev Fr Swebert D’Silva said that SJ Vinaya Hegde, chancellor, Nitte University will preside over the function, while Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University will participate as the chief guest.

Anananthakrishna, Non-Executive chairman of Karnataka Bank will release the souvenir commemorating the yeomen services of Prof K A Krishnamurthy. Rev Fr Denzil Lobo, Rector of St Aloysius Institution,  Prof K R Upadhyaya, Former HOD of Mathematics, St Aloysius College will be the guest of honour.

Fr D’Silva also said that the Organizing committee will establish an Endowment Fund in the name of Prof Murthy at College to popularize Mathematics among students.
